Notre Dame offered one of the top athletes in the country today in Dinwiddie (Va.) High product K’Vaughan Pope.
The 6-2, 210-pound Pope also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Florida and Georgia, among others. He is the second player from Virginia to receive an offer from the Irish following Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan linebacker Teradja Mitchell. He is the 12th junior designated as an athlete to be offered by Notre Dame.
Pope shined on both sides of the ball this past season as a junior. According to MaxPreps, Pope caught 33 passes for 630 yards and seven touchdowns. He also recorded 135 total stops, 29 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and six interceptions.
