The Notre Dame staff continues to expand the board in the 2019 class in January and Wednesday afternoon added a new name to the list.

Per his Twitter, Notre Dame has extended an offer to Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day linebacker Osita Ekwonu.

The 6-foot-2, 215 pounder also holds offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Duke, Syracuse, Wake Forest and others.

Okwonu is a familiar face to the Notre Dame staff after participating Irish Invasion this past summer. He returned to South Bend in the fall for a game visit watching the Irish take down USC 49-14 in late October.

“After having the chance to tour the campus and facilities, it's definitely high up on my list,” Ekwonu said of Notre Dame before his second visit. “Education would be the deciding factor, which is already a positive aspect of Notre Dame. Combine a high-level education with high level football, and it's a perfect place for me to be."

According to MaxPreps, Ekwonu had 73 total tackles and two sacks this past season. He added 468 yards and 13 touchdowns on 59 carries as a running back.
