Notre Dame Communicating With Three-Star OH WR Kory Taylor Often

Hilliard (Ohio) High three-star 2018 wide receiver Kory Taylor was in South Bend a few weeks ago to watch the Irish take on Duke.

Linebackers coach Mike Elston has been talking to the 6-foot-5, 195-pound Taylor around three to four times a week.

“It was a really great atmosphere,” Taylor said. “I loved being in the stands. The fans are great. They treat you with really great attitude. They treat everyone with really high standards and treat you very well.

“I liked watching them play even though they lost. I could see myself fitting in their offense pretty well.”

Taylor said his expectations heading into the visit were exceeded by what he saw.

"Everything they did was very well done,” Taylor said. “They gave us a tour of the facilities. Everything they have is very nice… It’s a really beautiful campus. You could tell everything there is very well done.”

Elston and Taylor were able to chat for just a bit during the visit. The duo typically communicates about Notre Dame as a program, how Taylor could fit in the Irish offense and his injury. Taylor suffered a foot injury in the first game and is out for the remainder of the season. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Taylor said he isn’t sure what position Notre Dame is recruiting him as, but it would be either wide receiver or possibly tight end.

Four Power Five schools have already offered Taylor: Kentucky, Boston College, Rutgers and Iowa State. He is taking the process slow and keeping an open mind throughout it all. He is hoping to earn a Notre Dame offer down the line.

“I think it would be one of my biggest offers,” Taylor said. “A really great offer because their high academic standards and great athletic traditions.

“I would love to go down there because academics are a big part of my life. Knowing their high standards for that it would be a main key factor in where I decide to go.”

The Notre Dame visit was the second of the year for Taylor who has also been to Louisville when Florida State was in town. He has been asked to attend games at Wisconsin, Michigan State, Indiana, Duke and others.
