Notre Dame Commit Tracker: Week Nine
The 2017 prep season continues to roll on for Notre Dame’s class of 2018 and 2019 commits. Read below to see how each player fared this past week on the field.
Class of 2018
• DT Jayson Ademilola— Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep
Last Week: Fell 41-14 to Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic (4-2).
This Week: St. Peter’s Prep (4-2) will host Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional (4-2).
• DE Justin Ademilola — Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep
Last Week: Notched six total tackles (one for loss), per MaxPreps, in a 41-14 loss to Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic (4-2).
This Week: St. Peter’s Prep (4-2) will host Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional (4-2).
• S Derrik Allen— Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter
Last Week: Had more than six tackles, a 50-yard punt return that set up Lassiter’s go-ahead score and the game-sealing interception in a 27-16 win over Woodstock (Ga.) High (4-3).
This Week: Lassiter (5-2) will play at Marietta (Ga.) Walton (7-0).
• WR Kevin Austin — Coconut Creek (Fla.) North Broward Prep
Last Week: Had four catches for 25 yards and five carries for 18 yards in a 42-15 loss to Key West (Fla.) High (5-0).
This Week: North Broward (4-2) will host Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Calvary Christian (2-4).
• LB Matthew Bauer — Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep
Last Week: Scored a one-yard rushing touchdown and was part of another strong defensive performance in a 50-7 win over West Toronto Prep, which is based in Ontario, Canada. … West Toronto Prep’s lone score came via a pick-six.
This Week: Cathedral Prep (8-0) will play at Waterford (Pa.) Fort LeBoeuf (4-4).
• OT John Dirksen— Maria Stein (Ohio) Marion Local
Last Week: Notched a 21-10 win over Fort Recovery (Ohio) High (4-4).
This Week: Marion Local (8-0) will travel to St. Henry (Ohio) High (6-2).
• DT Ja’Mion Franklin— Ridgely (Md.) North Caroline
Last Week: Posted a 61-0 rout of Worton (Md.) Kent County (1-6).
This Week: North Caroline (7-0) will play at Salisbury (Md.) Bennett (5-2).
• WR Micah Jones — Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township
Last Week: Caught two passes for three yards on six targets, per the Daily Herald’s John Phelps, in a 21-14 loss to Zion (Ill.) Zion-Benton (4-4).
This Week: Warren Township (5-3) will play at Lincolnshire (Ill.) Stevenson (6-2).
• QB Phil Jurkovec— Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland
Last Week: Completed 14 of 17 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a 45-0 win over Pittsburgh Shaler Area (0-8) … Added four rushes for 26 yards … For the season, has completed 128 of 166 passes (77.1 percent) for 2,121 yards with 18 touchdowns and four interceptions … Also has 46 carries for 358 yards and 12 scores.
This Week: Pine-Richland (8-0) will host Butler (Pa.) High (2-6).
• LB Jack Lamb— Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak
Last Week: After sitting out much of the season with a knee injury, returned to action and made two tackles in Great Oak’s 41-3 win over Temecula (Calif.) Temecula Valley (0-7).
This Week: Great Oak (4-3) will host Murrieta (Calif.) Murrieta Mesa (6-1).
• OT Cole Mabry — Brentwood (Tenn.) High
Last Week: Had a bye.
This Week: Brentwood (7-1) will host Lewisburg (Tenn.) Marshall County (6-2).
• LB Ovie Oghoufo— Farmington Hills (Mich.) Harrison
Last Week: Per his Hudl page, caught one pass for 13 yards and recorded five tackles, including multiple stops for loss, in a 39-0 win versus Berkley (Mich.) High (1-7).
This Week: Harrison (6-2) will play at Clarkston (Mich.) High (6-2).
• ROV Shayne Simon— Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep
Last Week: Recorded 11 total tackles (two for loss), per MaxPreps, in a 41-14 loss to Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic (4-2).
This Week: St. Peter’s Prep (4-2) will host Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional (4-2).
• RB Jahmir Smith— Sanford (N.C.) Lee County
Last Week: Lee County recorded its seventh shutout in eight games with a 55-0 win over Lillington (N.C.) Western Harnett (0-8).
This Week: Lee County (8-0) will host Cameron (N.C.) Union Pines (4-4).
• RB Markese Stepp— Indianapolis Cathedral
Last Week: Returned from injury with five carries for 49 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-14 win over Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove (4-5).
This Week: Cathedral (4-5) will have the week off before taking on Indianapolis Roncalli (8-1) in the first round of the IHSAA State Tournament.
• TE George Takacs— Naples (Fla.) Gulf Coast
Last Week: Had a bye.
This Week: Gulf Coast (3-1) will play at Naples (Fla.) Palmetto Ridge (2-2).
Class of 2019
• DT Jacob Lacey — Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren
Last Week: Had a bye.
This Week: South Warren (7-1) will play at Bowling Green (Ky.) High (6-2).
• QB Cade McNamara— Reno (Nev.) Damonte Ranch
Last Week: Completed 15 of 30 passes for 216 yards with two touchdowns, while adding four rushes for 21 yards and a score in a 42-7 Dwin over Minden (Nev.) Douglas (2-6) … For the season, has connected on 121 of 222 throws for 1,919 yards with 25 touchdowns.
This Week: Damonte Ranch (7-0) will play at Carson City (Nev.) Carson (3-4).
