Notre Dame's next quarterback will have a chance to prove he's one of the nation's top high school quarterback in a few weeks. Cedar Hill (Texas) High three-star quarterback Avery Davis earned an invite to the Elite 11 Finals late Tuesday night after putting together a strong performance at a regional camp earlier this spring.

Davis, who gave a verbal pledge to Notre Dame and offensive coordinator Mike Sanford back in March, is one of 22 quarterbacks that have been invited to the event which runs from June 3-5 in Los Angeles.

He now will have a chance to throw against the nation's top quarterbacks and earn a spot at the highly publicized Elite 11 quarterback competition which coincides with The Opening at NIKE's World Headquarters in early July.

The 5-11, 188-pound Davis also has an opportunity to join current Notre Dame quarterbacks Malik Zaire, DeShone Kizer and Brandon Wimbush as Elite 11 alums.

Davis was offered by Auburn last week, but remains solid on his commitment to the Irish. The Under Armour All-American is ranked by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 14 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 50 prospect in Texas.
