Notre Dame has added another piece to the puzzle in the 2018 class, landing a National Signing Day commitment from New Orleans McDonogh 35 three-star wide receiver Lawrence Keys.

The Louisiana talent picked up his offer from Notre Dame in February of 2016, and had been high on the Irish throughout his recruiting process.

Orginally scheduled to officially visit South Bend for the Navy game in November, Keys had to reschedule due to playoff conflicts, but Notre Dame was finally able to get him on campus on Jan. 19 and eventually secure his commitment.

Keys said that in the end, it was his relationship with the Irish coaching staff that won him over.

“It was just everything," Keys said. "My relationship with the coaches was big and me getting up there on my official visit, really getting a chance to know the players, have them build a relationship with me and my mom. They’ve been recruiting me since with last spring."

Keys gives Notre Dame it’s fourth wide receiver in the class, joining Kevin Austin, Micah Jones and Braden Lenzy.

Keys is ranked by Rivals as the No. 22 player in Louisiana.

Blue & Gold Illustrated football analyst Bryan Driskell rates Keys as a four-star player with 4.5-star upside, and the No. 6 receiver on BGI’s 2018 wide receiver big board.
