Alpharetta (Ga.) John's Creek tight end Tommy Tremble has been communicating with Notre Dame in recent weeks, and Wednesday, the Irish offered Tremble a scholarship.

The 6-4, 225-pounder holds offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Vandy, Ole Miss and multiple Ivy League programs.

Tremble told BGI in April that he was expecting a Notre Dame offer to come after offensive coordinator Chip Long came to visit him during the spring evaluation period.

Prior to the offer, Tremble told BGI that the opportunity to play at Notre Dame would be huge for him.

"It would be a big opportunity for me and I'd be very grateful,” Tremble said. “They would be a big contender and I would love to visit the coaches and campus… I'd love the chance to be with the Notre Dame program.”

Tremble is a University of Georgia legacy, but the talented tight end said that won't play a factor in his recruitment.

“Right now everyone thinks it's UGA because my dad went there, but they’re all even to me right now,” Tremble stated. “My big factors are education first, players and coaching chemistry next and then if the program has a future or already has an established program.

At Nike Football's The Opening Regional Atlanta, Tremble recorded a 4.63 40-yard dash, and was the 10th-highest rated player at event.
