BGI Video: WR Micah Jones Talks Season Opener And Irish Recruiting
Blue & Gold Illustrated was on-hand in Barrington, Illinois last night as Notre Dame wide receiver commit Micah Jones and his Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township began their 2017 campaign on the road against Barrington High.
Warren Township was never able to find a consistency on offense after tying the game early in the 1st quarter at 7. Barrington took advantage pulling out to a 34-7 lead before eventually winning the game 34-0.
Jones finished with three catches for 32 yards and two touchdowns. His scores came from 11 yards and 7 yards out. Statistically, the night could have been much better for Jones as he hauled in two other passes, including a possible touchdown, but was ruled out of bounds.
Following the conclusion of the game, Jones discussed with BGI his thoughts on the game, his new partner at wide receiver in the 2018 class in Coconut Creek (Fla.) North Broward Prep product Kevin Austin and his top targets on the recruiting trail, among other things.
