Notre Dame faced a pivotal cycle with the 2018 class at the cornerback position after failing to land one in 2017.

During the early signing period, the Irish staff added two high-upside players in Tariq Bracy and Joseph Wilkins Jr. along with a versatile defensive back in Houston Griffith, who can play cornerback or safety.

Four-star prospects Noah Boykin and Julius Irvin remain on the board for Notre Dame for the final few weeks of the cycle, and the staff would love to add either prospect to its defensive back haul.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame will look to follow up this class with another talented group in 2019 to help offset the shortcomings of last year. The staff has not landed an early commitment at the position, but that doesn't mean their options are limited.

Blue & Gold Illustrated takes an early look at Notre Dame's efforts at cornerback in 2019 with a projected take of 2-3.
