For the first time, Rivals has created its own ranking system to combine recruiting class and transfer portal hauls. Rivals is calling it the Comprehensive Team Rankings and unveiled the results for the 2023 cycle on Tuesday.

Rivals ranked Notre Dame at No. 10 overall in its Comprehensive Team Rankings for 2023. Notre Dame’s 11th-ranked recruiting class of 23 commitments with 19 four-star recruits and four three-star recruits did most of the heavy lifting for the Irish.

Notre Dame’s 10-player transfer class was ranked No. 50 overall. Quarterback Sam Hartman, ranked No. 24 regardless of position, was the only incoming transfer to receive a four-star rating.
