The final piece to Notre Dame’s 2019 class became public last Wednesday when Concord (Calif.) De La Salle defensive end Isaiah Foskey announced his decision on national television.
Foskey actually signed with the Irish during the early period, but decided to keep it quiet so he could be part of a celebration with his teammates in February.
“It felt right to me,” Foskey said of his decision to wait until February to publicly announce. “I love doing everything with brothers because I’ve been through hell and back with them. It was right to sign with everyone else. I didn’t want to do it by myself in December.
“It was difficult not to mention it. I was wearing Notre Dame stuff, and I didn’t even mean to it. So people would always say I was going there and I had to switch it up a little bit. I changed it up, but most everyone knew I was going there.”
