Answer: D. The Yellow Jackets are 3-16 all time vs. the Fighting Irish in South Bend. Georgia Tech won at Notre Dame for the first time in eight tries in 1942. Freshman phenom Clint Castleberry threw a touchdown pass in his only season at Tech for a 13-6 win, before dying while piloting a plane during World War II.

In 1959, the No. 19-ranked Ramblin’ Wreck knocked off unranked Irish 14-10 in a game marred by 11 turnovers (seven for Notre Dame and four for Tech) in frigid conditions.

It would be another 48 years before Georgia Tech would win in South Bend. The Jackets crushed the Irish 33-3 to open the 2007 campaign, with Tashard Choice — who is now Georgia Tech’s running backs coach— rushing for 196 yards. All told, Tech outgained the Irish by a 386-122 margin to hand them what remains as the most-lopsided season-opening loss in program history.
