Will Bryce Young choose to follow in his father's footsteps?

This past weekend, Young visited Notre Dame with his father, Bryant Young, for the program's Blue-Gold Game. On Saturday, the younger Young will share his commitment decision. He shared the announcement date Monday night on Twitter.

Bryant Young became an All-America defensive lineman during a Notre Dame career (1990-93) that preceded a Pro Football Hall of Fame career with the San Francisco 49ers. Matching those accolades won't be easy for his son, but Bryce Young could attempt to do so in the same college location.

The Youngs were also on Notre Dame's campus this past weekend at the same as Bryce's Charlotte (N.C.) Christian teammate Micah Gilbert, a four-star wide receiver in the 2024 class. Gilbert plans to announce his commitment decision May 2.

Bryce Young made visits to Duke, Tennessee, USC, Stanford, Michigan and Notre Dame (twice) since the start of the year.

Notre Dame was the first school to offer Bryce Young. After Young competed in one of Notre Dame's camps in June, defensive line coach Al Washington extended a scholarship offer. Big-time programs such as USC, Michigan, Miami, Penn State and Tennessee have since followed suit.

Young, a four-star recruit, tallied 92 tackles, six tackles for loss and three sacks as a junior last season. Rivals ranks Young as the No. 25 outside linebacker in the 2024 class. Most schools are recruiting the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Young as a defensive end or edge rusher.
