Beaver Falls (Pa.) defensive tackle Donovan Jeter has made yet another surprising decision.
After making an official visit to Notre Dame for its matchup against Michigan State, Jeter decided to end his recruitment and pledge to Notre Dame. Although Notre Dame was making a hard push for Jeter, that commitment was certainly surprising, with Jeter having been believed to be a Pittsburgh lean.
Jeter, after all, had previously eliminated the Irish before adding them back into his top group during the summer.
Today, Jeter has once again made a surprising decision, this time announcing his decommitment from Notre Dame.
In the tweet, Jeter announced that Notre Dame is still his top school, but this is certainly a hit for Notre Dame.
History shows that players that decommit from Notre Dame rarely end up back in the class, but rest assured the Irish staff - led by area recruiter Mike Elston - will continue going hard after Jeter.
Having Jeter and four-star tackle Darnell Ewell of Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor in the same class was huge for Notre Dame. Ewell remains committed, but Jeter is no longer in the class, which is a serious blow.
