Despite a disappointing junior season, Notre Dame wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown has decided he will bypass his final season of eligibility and enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

St. Brown has been Notre Dame's leading receiver the last two seasons, hauling in 91 passes for 1,476 yards, but his production took a nose dive this season. St. Brown caught just 33 passes for 515 yards and four scores this season, a big dip from his 2016 season of 58 catches for 961 yards and nine touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Brandon Wimbush and St. Brown hooked up for a 34-yard pass and catch on the first play of the 2017 season - a 49-16 win over Temple - but the pair never really connected the way it was hoped for much of the 2017 season.

Without a second receiving weapon for much of the season, defenses were able to focus more attention on St. Brown, who had some issues at times at the line and competing for balls. The inaccuracy of Wimbush in the pass game proved frustrating; St. Brown was often the target of Wimbush's missed reads and off-target throws.

Instead of coming back and hoping the rest of the receiving corps and the quarterbacks would improve and give him more support, St. Brown decided to head to the NFL despite getting a "return to school" grade.

St. Brown is banking on his size, past production and testing results to help overcome his lack of 2017 production and struggles with his technique and ball skills.
