Notre Dame picked up a commitment from talented four-star linebacker Jordan Botelho, a standout from Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis that is being recruited to play the drop end position.
Botelho is the seventh player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2020 class, and the third that is projected to play along the defensive line. If Notre Dame gets what it wants he won’t be the last front seven target to join the class, and possibly not the last drop end target.
A look at what’s next for the Irish, beginning with the top targets along the defensive line.
Mills is one of the top targets on the board, regardless of position, and he’s been a top target for over a year. Landing him would be huge for the Irish present class, and more importantly for the future of the Notre Dame defensive line.
What I love about the Lake Forest star is his positional flexibility. He could easily be a better pass rushing version of Jay Hayes at strongside end, where his size, length, power and athletic skills would play well. He could also add a little bit of natural weight, keep adding strength and develop into a disruptive, penetrating defensive tackle with a game similar to Jerry Tillery.
