Video Analysis: Notre Dame Rolling, Lands Rivals100 DB Derrik Allen
In the span of about 12 hours yesterday, Notre Dame landed two Rivals100 prospects to bolster an already strong early 2018 defensive class.
The day started with the expected addition of Detroit Cass Tech cornerback Kalon Gervin, who is ranked as the No. 90 player in the country and No. 11 cornerback, following his visit to South Bend for the Irish's first Junior Day of 2017.
Notre Dame kept rolling later in the evening with a little surprise from Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter safety Derrik Allen, who publicly announced his pledge to the Irish via Twitter. Allen is now the highest ranked commit in the 2018 class coming in as the No. 36 player in the land and the No. 3 safety. He became commitment No. 8 and the fifth Rivals250 prospect for the Irish.
