There was smoke early Monday evening that LSU was targeting Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly for the same position with the Tigers. And then at 7:51 p.m. ET, Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel tweeted that LSU was expecting to hire Kelly as its next head coach, setting off the Twittersphere into a frenzy.
