*** Notre Dame had six commitments on campus (seven when you include offensive lineman Ashton Craig who made his pledge during the weekend), and the staff hadn’t seen all but one of those players in person before. The one they had seen was offensive lineman Joey Tanona, but their last time seeing him was nearly two years ago. Sometimes recruits will come on visits and they’re not exactly what the staff may have been thinking they’d look like, but I’m told that the Irish staff was really pleased with how all of their commits (and the uncommitted guys too) looked. This may be something fans will gloss over, but it’s really important.
