Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore defensive end Jonathon MacCollister submitted his National Letter of Intent to Notre Dame on Wednesday.
Rivals rates the 6-4, 253-pounder as a three-star prospect.

• Recorded a 325-pound pause-press in competitive weight lifting during his junior year.

• Named to The Orlando Sentinel’s All-Central Florida first team as a tight end and rated as the newspaper’s No. 2 senior in Central Florida.
• Selected as an Associated Press Florida Class 5A All-State first-team selection at wide receiver.
Recruitment
• Committed to Notre Dame on June 17, 2016, over offers from Ohio State, Auburn, Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, Utah, Oregon and more than 30 other schools.
• Took his official visit to Notre Dame Dec. 9-11 for the Echoes Awards banquet.
• Did not take any other official visits.

2017 Projection
• MacCollister will likely get a redshirt season to develop physically and improve his technique.
BGI football analyst Bryan Driskell: “MacCollister’s technique is extremely raw, but he has a lot of tools to work with. He has an inconsistent burst off the line, and his hand play lacks refinement. That’s obviously the drawback, and he’s a long way away from being a guy who can earn a lot of snaps.
“The good news is once his fundamentals match his athletic skills, MacCollister could be productive. He can flash an excellent burst off the line and good closing speed. He has an excellent frame and right now he projects best to the strongside position.”
