Rivals 100 Linebacker David Adams Commits To Notre Dame

Notre Dame has landed its second commitment from the weekend.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic Rivals100 linebacker David Adams gave a verbal pledge to the Irish after visiting campus on Saturday for Notre Dame’s Junior Day.

Adams, who is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 4 inside linebacker in the country, has long been a target for the Irish. He visited for the USC game this past season and was in town for an unofficial visit in August.

“It’s every kid’s dream to have a bunch of college coaches at their high school game,” Adams said on Nov. 10 when Notre Dame sent five coaches including head coach Brian Kelly to watch him play. “I’m humbled by it, but I’m going to commit to a school when I feel that it’s right and everything clicks for me. I would say that’s the plan right now.”

Adams becomes commit No. 6 for Notre Dame.

The 6-2, 225-pound linebacker is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 5 recruit in Pennsylvania and the No. 100 overall prospect in the country.

He also held offers from Stanford, Duke, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

“They have an amazing school and an amazing football program,” Adams said of Notre Dame. “So it’s just one of those places where you have to go a couple of times, because if you leave from a degree from there, you are set for life.”
