Sedrick Irvin Jr. had an inclination he would enjoy his first visit to Notre Dame.
The 2023 Miami Gulliver Prep running back left that June 14 trip to South Bend with confirmation the Irish are a top contender for his commitment.
“Even before this, Notre Dame was high on the list,” Irvin said. “But after the trip, they definitely secured a high spot.”
Running backs coach Lance Taylor has been Irvin’s primary recruiter since he added the Notre Dame offer last fall. His first in-person meeting with Taylor strengthened a good initial relationship.
“I could tell he was serious about his job and serious about developing his running backs,” Irvin said. “That’s one of the biggest things with him. He wants you to become a complete back.”
