Answer: B. Saban’s Spartans defeated head coach Bob Davie’s Fighting Irish in both 1997 (23-7) and 1999 (23-13). Carroll lost his first game in 2001, and Paterno his second one in 1984. Parseghian also was 2-0 at Northwestern with wins in 1959 and 1961.
