Notre Dame is on a bye which means more effort will be geared towards the recruiting trail this week evaluating potential targets, stopping by to check in on top targets and even extend a few new offers.

The first offer of the bye week for the Irish came this evening.

Per his Twitter, Notre Dame has extended an offer to Manchester (Tenn.) Coffee County Central athlete Alontae Taylor.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder could be a wide receiver or defensive back on the next level, but Notre Dame offered him as a cornerback. Taylor says he plans to take an official visit to Notre Dame.

Taylor, who ranks as the No. 25 wide receiver and No. 131 player nationally, picked Tennessee in June of 2016 and also holds offers from Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Stanford, TCU and Vanderbilt, among others.

According to MaxPreps, Taylor recorded 30 tackles and two sacks in 10 games last season as a junior.
