Notre Dame Offers Florida ATH Joseph Wilkins Jr.

Per his Twitter, Notre Dame has extended an offer North Fort Myers (Fla.) Joseph Wilkins Jr.

Running backs coach Autry Denson recently made his way down to North Fort Myers to check in on the 6-foot-2, 175-pounder.

“It was huge,” Wilkins Jr. told Blue & Gold. “I know Notre Dame is a big academic school and I love that about them.

“They had that really good wide receiver Will Fuller. He was awesome. From a wide receiver standpoint, I like the way they throw the ball.”

Wilkins plays both wide receiver and defensive back at North Fort Myers. Though he believes he’s better suited for offense, college coaches seem to see his future in the defensive backfield.

“I feel like I’m a better wide receiver because I’ve been playing it a lot,” Wilkins said. “A lot of these coaches like me more at DB. I’m a 6-foot-2, lengthy corner.”

Wilkins holds offers from Arizona, Iowa State, Maryland, NC State, Louisville and South Carolina, among others.

Stay tuned to Blue & Gold for further updates on Wilkins.
