Though the Irish are gearing up for a big-time matchup tomorrow against No. 14 North Carolina State, that isn't stopping the staff from grinding on the recruiting trail.
The staff has expanded the target board in the 2019 class at defensive tackle.
Per his Twitter, Notre Dame is the latest school to offer Pickerington (Ohio) Central junior defensive tackle DeWayne Carter Jr.
The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder adds Notre Dame to an offer list that already included Northwestern, Tennessee, Kentucky, Duke, Boston College, Louisville, Rutgers and Indiana, among others.
Carter Jr. is the son of former Ohio State wide receiver DeWayne Carter Sr.
Carter Jr. ranks as the No. 11 defensive tackle in the 2019 class and the No. 11 player overall in the state of Ohio for the current junior class.
Notre Dame already holds a commitment from Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren 2019 Rivals250 defensive tackle Jacob Lacey, but is looking to continue adding talent on the interior.
