Notre Dame DB Target Tariq Bracy Is 'Very Explosive'
Milpitas (Calif.) High cornerback Tariq Bracy has always been talented.
Milpitas head coach Kelly King said he thought Bracy would be a special athlete from a young age, and now that Bracy is halfway through his senior year, King appears to have been correct in that assumption.
“He was always a great a player, but kids get better as they learn better technique,” King said. “It’s not just always on raw ability. They’re proven and they see the game a little bit. The game slows down for them.”
Bracy has looked impressive through four games this season, putting up big numbers on both sides of the ball.
King said having an athlete like Bracy on his team has made his job a lot less stressful.
“It’s great to coach great players. It makes it a little bit easier,” King said. “You move him around and give him the ball and good things happen.”
Bracy has a lot of different traits that make him the player he is, and several schools have taken notice.
Along with Notre Dame, Bracy holds offers from Utah, Washington State, California and several others.
King said Bracy’s most attractive characteristic is his ability to turn on the jets in any situation.
“He’s very explosive,” King explained. “A couple of games ago he had two interceptions for touchdowns, and he’s obviously explosive on offense too. He’s got great ball skills and can run.”
Bracy is a top target at the cornerback position for Notre Dame, and the Irish have made him a priority over the last several months since extending the offer.
King doesn’t know what Bracy’s final decision will be, but said it may be hard to pass up on an opportunity like the one Notre Dame presents.
“Obviously it’s a legendary program,” King said. “Notre Dame has a lot of clout, and fans all over the country. They play on national TV every weekend, so kids get a chance to see that.”
