Notre Dame Commit Tracker: Week 12
It’s playoff season in high school football, and Notre Dame’ s 2018 and 2019 commits are trying to help lead their teams to a coveted state championship.
Take a look at how each player performed in their prep games this past week.
• DT Jayson Ademilola — Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep
Last Week: Picked up a 28-14 win over Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep (2-7).
This Week: St. Peter’s Prep (7-2) faces Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep (2-7) in the first round of the New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 playoffs.
• DE Justin Ademilola — Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep
Last Week: Notched a 28-14 victory over Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep (2-7).
This Week: St. Peter’s Prep (7-2) plays Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep (2-7) in the first round of the New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 playoffs.
• S Derrik Allen — Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter
Last Week: Suffered a 29-20 loss to Woodstock (Ga.) Etowah (5-5) … His season came to end a few weeks ago when he suffered a broken hand … Finished the year with 54 tackles, three stops for loss, three interceptions and seven passes broken up in just seven games … Also hauled in 14 receptions for 196 yards and compiled a 32.0-yard average on 14 punts returns.
This Week: Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter (6-4) has completed its season.
• WR Kevin Austin — Coconut Creek (Fla.) North Broward Prep
Last Week: In a Tuesday-night game on Halloween, had five receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown in a 28-14 victory over Miami Gulliver Prep (6-3).
This Week: North Broward Prep (7-3) has completed its season.
• LB Matthew Bauer — Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep
Last Week: Had a bye in the state playoffs.
This Week: Cathedral Prep (10-0) is at Pittsburgh University Prep/Sci-Tech/Obama Academy (4-6) in the subregional round of the Pennsylvania Class 4A playoffs.
• OT John Dirksen — Maria Stein (Ohio) Marion Local
Last Week: Notched a 27-0 victory over Fort Recovery (Ohio) High (6-5) in the regional quarterfinals of the Ohio Division VI playoffs.
This Week: Marion Local (11-0) will face Spencerville (Ohio) High (9-2) in the regional semifinals of the playoffs.
• DT Ja’Mion Franklin — Ridgely (Md.) North Caroline
Last Week: Secured a 42-14 win over Federalsburg (Md.) Colonel Richardson (6-4)
This Week: North Caroline (10-0) will host Stevensville (Md.) Kent Island (8-2) in the first round of the Maryland Class 2A playoffs … North Caroline defeated Kent Island 35-14 in the regular season.
• WR Micah Jones — Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township
Last Week: Fell 40-20 to Park Ridge (Ill.) Maine South (11-1) in the second round of the Illinois Class 8A playoffs.
This Week: Warren Township (8-4) has completed its season.
• QB Phil Jurkovec — Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland
Last Week: Completed 13 of 18 passes for 235 yards with four touchdowns in a 49-14 win over North Huntingdon (Pa.) Norwin (5-6) … Added 114 yards and a touchdown on five rushing attempts … For the season, has connected on 157 of 210 passes (74.8 percent) for 2,571 yards with 25 touchdowns and four interceptions … Also has 72 carries for 697 yards and 15 scores.
This Week: Pine-Richland (11-0) will face Wexford (Pa.) North Allegheny (8-3) in the quarterfinals of the Western Pennsylvania Class 6A playoffs … Pine-Richland defeated North Allegheny 48-28 during the regular season.
• LB Jack Lamb — Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak
Last Week: Racked up 23 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in a 26-14 victory over Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta (4-6).
This Week: Great Oak (5-5) will face Valencia (Calif.) High (9-1) in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.
• OT Cole Mabry — Brentwood (Tenn.) High
Last Week: Registered a 36-7 victory over Nashville (Tenn.) McGavock (5-6) in the first round of the Tennessee Division I Class 6A playoffs.
This Week: Brentwood (11-1) faces Nashville (Tenn.) Cane Ridge (10-1) in the second round of the playoffs … Brentwood defeated Cane Ridge 41-21 during the regular season.
• S Paul Moala — Mishawka (Ind.) Penn
Last Week: Recorded three tackles in a 40-0 win over Warsaw (Ind.) High (6-5) in the sectional championship round of the Indiana Class 6A playoffs.
This Week: Penn (10-1) plays at Crown Point (Ind.) High (7-4) in the regional championship round of the Class 6A playoffs.
• LB Ovie Oghoufo — Farmington Hills (Mich.) Harrison
Last Week: Defeated Warren (Mich.) Woods-Tower (9-2) 33-0 in the district finals of the Michigan Division III playoffs.
This Week: Harrison (8-3) faces Linden (Mich.) High (8-3) in the regional finals of the Division III playoffs.
• ROV Shayne Simon — Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep
Last Week: Notched a 28-14 win over Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep (2-7).
This Week: St. Peter’s Prep (7-2) faces Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep (2-7) in the first round of the New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 playoffs.
• RB Jahmir Smith — Sanford (N.C.) Lee County
Last Week: Won 24-3 over Sanford (N.C.) Southern Lee (5-6).
This Week: Lee County (11-0) hosts Greensboro (N.C.) Ben L. Smith (5-6) in the first round of the North Carolina Class 3AA playoffs.
• RB Markese Stepp — Indianapolis Cathedral
Last Week: Carried the ball 29 times for 249 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-21 win over Indianapolis Decatur Central (10-2) in the sectional championship round of the Indiana Class 5A playoffs.
This Week: Cathedral (6-5) is at Bloomington (Ind.) South (7-5) in the regional championship round of Class 5A playoffs.
• TE George Takacs — Naples (Fla.) Gulf Coast
Last Week: Had one catch for five yards in a 43-13 win over Naples (Fla.) Golden Gate (2-6).
This Week: Gulf Coast (4-3) did not earn a playoff berth, but is eligible to play in a bowl game … The date and opponent for that game is yet to be determined.
Class of 2019
• DT Jacob Lacey — Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren
Last Week: Recorded a 38-12 victory versus Mayfield (Ky.) Graves County (6-4) in the first round of the Kentucky Class 5A playoffs.
This Week: South Warren (9-2) faces Hopkinsville (Ky.) Christian County (11-0) in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
• QB Cade McNamara — Reno (Nev.) Damonte Ranch
Last Week: McNamara completed 20 of 42 passes for 344 yards with five touchdowns in a 47-22 win over Reno (Nev.) Galena (5-4) … For the season, has connected on 190 of 326 throws for 2,983 yards with 37 touchdowns.
This Week: Damonte Ranch (10-0) faces Reno (Nev.) McQueen (4-5) in the quarterfinals of the Nevada Class 4A Northern Region playoffs.
