Notre Dame Among Offers For Fast-Rising WR Noah Rogers
Noah Rogers’ rise this spring was impressive.
His Rolesville (N.C.) High squad did not have a fall season last year but played a six-game regular season in the spring of 2021. Rolesville reached the North Carolina 4AA state championship game but suffered its first loss of the season in that contest.
Per Maxpreps, Rogers caught 26 passes for 591 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had a few special teams scores and was named the Northern Athletic conference’s special teams player of the year.
The class of 2023 prospect received his first scholarship offer March 24 from North Carolina. Currently, he’s at 17 scholarship offers, which are all from Power Five conference schools.
“I put in the work during the quarantine, and it showed that my hard work paid off,” Rogers said. “I’m blessed to get offers at a young age. It’s very exciting for me. Not everyone gets these opportunities.”
One of his opportunities is from Notre Dame. Fighting Irish wide receivers coach Del Alexander extended an offer to the 6-3, 185-pounder on April 29.
“Notre Dame had been keeping an eye on me,” Rogers said. “We kept in contact for a month, and we talked on the phone with my mom. And some good news came across.”
Rogers isn’t too familiar with Notre Dame at this point in the recruiting process, but Alexander’s message to Rogers is clear.
“He was telling me that Notre Dame is one of the best schools you can possibly go to,” explained Rogers. “They’re not just all about football. It’s also about education and developing players into great men.”
In the month of June, Rogers has visited Clemson, North Carolina and North Carolina State.
Rivals ranks Rogers as a four-star prospect.
“Rogers blossomed during the spring season in North Carolina and now his offer sheet is matching his upside,” Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Friedman wrote. “The 6-3 receiver has a lean but strong frame and the speed to take the top off of defenses.
“Rogers is a great downfield threat that has the size to do a lot of damage over the middle of the field. He can also pick up big chunks of yards after the catch because he’s tough to bring down in the open field.”
