Isaac Rochell is headed for Los Angeles.
The Notre Dame defensive lineman was selected in the seventh round (No. 225 overall) of Saturday's NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers, the second former Irish player to be picked.
Quarterback DeShone Kizer was picked in the second round Friday by the Cleveland Browns.
The 6-4, 290-pound Rochell had 55 tackles, one sack and seven tackles for loss as a senior team captain in 2016. He played 49 games in his Irish career, making 167 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.
Rochell is the 15th Notre Dame player drafted by the Chargers in franchise history.
ESPN's Todd McShay gave Rochell a fifth-round grade entering the draft.
"He plays his tail off," McShay said. "You watch him versus the run and he can set a strong edge, he can take on blocks. He chases, he pursues. He’s just never going to be a really good pass rusher, but he’s strong and consistent versus the run.”
