Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has committed to Notre Dame.
Owsusu-Koramoah, a three-star linebacker out of Hampton (Va.) Bethel, announced his pledge to Notre Dame during a ceremony at his school. He chose the Irish over Michigan State.
A former Virginia commit, Owusu-Koramoah was offered by Notre Dame Jan. 19 and was in South Bend the next weekend for an official visit.
Owusu-Koramoah decommitted from Virginia Jan. 23, the same day Irish head coach Brian Kelly was at Bethel to meet with him.
When the offer came, Owusu-Koramoah’s head coach William Beverly told BGI that his player had described Notre Dame as a “dream school.”
Michigan State made a push, and the Virginia talent gave his official visit to East Lansing high marks, but the Irish won out in the end.
Owusu-Koramoah is the 20th commitment in the class and second to pledge to Notre Dame today.
He is rated by Rivals as the No. 18 player in Virginia and the No. 40 outside linebacker in the class of 2017. He was recruited by Notre Dame to play the rover position in new defensive coordinator Mike Elko’s scheme.
