When four-star wide receiver Braden Lenzy returns to campus on April 22 for the Blue-Gold game, it will have bee exactly two months since he committed to the Irish following a Junior Day in mid-February.

Since he made his pledge, Lenzy, the No. 15 athlete and No. 203 overall player in the nation, said he has been thinking about being in South Bend every day.

The four-star said the relationships he’s already made with his fellow commits, paired with the opportunities that lay ahead, have him eager as ever to get his college football career started.

“In college, that’s where the real relationships are made,” Lenzy said. “We kind of already know who are best friends are going to be because we’re committed and we know who we’re going to be around. That makes me think about South Bend all the time. When I’m there, I get to be playing football and I get to be around great people, and get a great education.”

And Lenzy plans on arriving sooner than rather than later. The Oregon talent told BGI that he plans on enrolling early, and will spend the upcoming weekend taking stock of where he’ll be on the depth chart once he arrives.

“A lot of it is who is ahead of me, and where will I be in the spring next year at this time,” Lenzy said. “That competitive atmosphere is always there.”

Of course, that’s not all he’ll be doing during the weekend.

“But also just having fun,” Lenzy said. “ I don’t get to be there often.”

In fact, this is only Lenzy’s second trip to Notre Dame. The first one, which ultimately resulted in his commitment, was just him and his father Melvin. This time, the whole family will be along for the ride.

Lenzy said he's looking forward to giving his mother and younger brother a peek into his future.

“My mom didn’t get to see it, and I’m very close with my mom, so I’m really excited for her to see where my future home will be,” Lenzy said. “And it will be cool for my brother to see. He’s a 2020 corner and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him be recruited by Notre Dame when it’s all said and done. It will be good for both of them to be at Notre Dame and see what it’s like.”
