Blue & Gold Illustrated has learned that Notre Dame graduate assistant Maurice Crum Jr. is expected to leave the program and take a full-time coaching position at another school according to multiple sources.

Crum Jr. spent this past season working with the Irish defensive backs. He joined the staff in 2015 prior to the start of spring practice after spending three years at Kansas working under the direction of former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis.

The former Irish linebacker and two-time team captain played in 50 games over the course of his career and at one point made 42 consecutive starts. He ranks 11th all-time in school history with 306 career tackles.

Notre Dame lost defensive graduate assistant Kyle McCarthy last February when he left the Irish to take a position with a sports agency.
