Notre Dame has added a one-time four-star wide receiver commit back to the fold for the class of 2018.

There were plenty of twists and turns along the way, but Portland (Ore.) Tigard wide receiver Braden Lenzy has re-committed to Notre Dame and plans to sign his National Letter of Intent shortly to officially become part of the class.

Lenzy originally committed to Notre Dame in February following an unofficial visit for Junior Day, but flipped to in-state Oregon on June 14 among concerns that his track career would falter in South Bend.

The Oregon product takes track seriously, and fully plans on giving it equal time in college along with football.

Following Lenzy’ flip, Notre Dame went out and offered California speedster Geordon Porter and secured his commitment on Nov.1.

When Willie Taggart bolted for Florida State, Lenzy backed off his pledge to the Ducks.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long went in-home with Lenzy that same week and convinced him to take an official visit to Notre Dame for the Echoes banquet on Dec. 8.

Meanwhile, Porter backed off his commitment to Notre Dame on Dec. 9.

After the visit, it was almost a done deal. Lenzy is back where he originally wanted to be, and Notre Dame has the speed receiver they wanted in the class all along.

With his commitment, Lenzy gives Notre Dame its third four-star receiver in the class joining Kevin Austin and Micah Jones, and its 21st commitment overall.

With Lenzy in the fold, Notre Dame has now landed players from 13 different states in the class of 2018.
