Notre Dame offered Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis defensive end Jordan Botelho in late January, and the Irish coaching staff, led by Brian Polian and Mike Elston, worked quickly to position themselves well in Botelho's recruitment.
They did just that and more, as the 6-foot-3, 230-pound four-star recruit scheduled an official visit to check out Notre Dame for the weekend of the Blue-Gold game.
"I was talking to them a lot, and I definitely wanted to get a chance to get up there," Botelho told Blue & Gold Illustrated. "When coach brought up an official visit, I definitely jumped on it. I'm happy I was able to make the trip."
The top highlight of Botelho's visit this past weekend was a film room session with Elston, and Botelho learned about his role at the "drop" position in Clark Lea's defense.
