Notre Dame will host a number of talented prospects from the class of 2019 this weekend, including a Rivals250 athlete committed elsewhere.

Brawley (Calif.) Brawley Union athlete Casey Kline is committed to Arizona, but said the opportunity to visit Notre Dame was too good to pass up.

“We’re really excited,” Kline said. “We grew up Notre Dame fans in my house and have always wanted to get up there, but could never really afford the tickets. We’re really excited to finally get up there and check it out.”

The visit will take place during Notre Dame’s final home game of the season, but Kline said he’s been working on setting up the trip ever since the season kicked off.

“Schools send the mail to my school,” Kline said. “Our coach doesn’t actually work at the school, so we get the mail a little bit late. They have me all the mail I had and I saw a couple Notre Dame game invites in there.”

After learning he was invited for a visit, Kline, the No. 211 overall player in the nation, said taking the visit was a no brainer.

“Watching them on TV, it’s crazy,” Kline said, “Seeing them run out of the tunnel and hit the play like a champion sign. I just wanted to get up there and take it all in in person.”

Kline, who is obviously familiar with Notre Dame, said he is a huge fan of the history surrounding the school and the football program.

“Probably tradition,” Kline said of what sticks out to him about the Irish. “They get the players to play the way they’ve always played; aggressive and they go all out. They know what they’re playing for and I like that.”

Currently, the Arizona commit only holds offers from the Wildcats and Oregon, but said he is hopeful one from Notre Dame is on the way.

“That would be special,” Kline said. “That’s a team that almost every guy in my family has had the dream of playing for, and I’m probably the closest one that has the ability to do it. If they were to offer, it would be amazing.”

Wylie (Texas) High 2019 wide receiver

Donovan Ollievisited Notre Dame for the NC State game, and the Irish left a huge impression on the Texas talent.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Ollie said the visit to South Bend was different than any other trip he’s taken so far.

I really enjoyed the game and the campus in South Bend,” Ollie said. The game intensity was like no other place I’ve ever seen and the campus was unbelievable along with that huge stadium. I couldn’t stop imagining myself making plays there.

Ollie said the thing that caught his eye the most about the visit was the history of the school and the football program.

“They tradition of the school and team sticks out the most,” Ollie said. “Notre Dame produces great players and I come from a religious family so that will be a good fit for me to attend a religious school.”

Of course, getting to attend the game against NC State was the highlight of the trip for Ollie.

Ollie was completely blown away by the atmosphere in Notre Dame Stadium.

That was the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen,” Ollie said. “I just felt like I was in another world while i was on the sideline during pregame. It gave me goosebumps to hear all the fans and see all the players hyped up.”

For now, Ollie’s recruitment is in the early stages.

The Texas talent does not yet hold any offers, but has a few things in mind he’ll be looking for when offers start to come in.

“Mainly a place that feels like home and will give me the best education and put me in the best position to take my career to the next level,” Ollie said. “Also a place where my family feels more than welcome.”

If one of those offers comes from Notre Dame, Ollie said South Bend might just be the right place for him.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Notre Dame ever since I was a small kid,” Ollie said. “I would definitely be more than happy to come play in South Bend.”
