Over the last 20 years, the entire process has had to be expedited dramatically, most recently with the early signing period that began in 2017.
For the 2021 cycle, Notre Dame already has eight verbal commitments — and quarterback Tyler Buchner’s pledge on March 8, 2019 marked the fourth consecutive year that a quarterback broke the ice with the initial verbal commitment to a new Irish recruiting class.
