Notre Dame picked up its second running back in the class of 2018 on Sunday when Sanford (N.C) Lee County prospect Jahmir Smith announced his commitment to the Irish via Twitter.

As with every commitment, Blue & Gold Illustrated brought you extensive coverage of Smith's decision, links to all of which can be found right here on this page.

News of Smith's commitment to the Irish broke on Twitter at approximately 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Following the commitment, BGI published the commitment story on Smith, which can be read HERE.

The commitment story included quotes on Smith from BGI football analyst Bryan Driskell, who offered his thought on what the Irish are getting in Smith.

"Smith was incredibly productive during his junior season at Lee County, racking up 2,130 yards (6.7 per rush) and 40 touchdowns," Driskell said. "The 6-0, 194-pound back has a good frame and should easily get to over 215 pounds in college. He can make defenders miss at the line of scrimmage, but he’s better at running through tacklers than he is trying to make them miss. Smith plays with good leg drive, and with more physical maturity, his power should become his best physical asset."

Driskell also broke down what Smith's commitment means for Notre Dame, and what the next step will be at the running back position. You can read the class impact story HERE.

With Smith coming from North Carolina, BGI senior editor Lou Somogyi too a look at the history of Irish recruiting in the state. You can read that HERE.

Finally, BGI continued its new series "Inside Look" with a profile on Smith. Everything you need to know about Smith's recruitment can be found HERE.
