Athens (Ga.) Athens Academy 2021 wide receiver Deion Colzie got another look at Notre Dame this weekend, and the Peach State standout was once again impressed with what he saw.

"It was great to come back again,” Colzie said. “We got to see the stadium again, walk around campus and take some pictures. It was nice.”

The highlight of the weekend for Colzie was getting to watch a spring practice session, which he said caught his eye in a big way.

"The practice was great,” Colzie explained. “It was really up-tempo with a lot of one-on-ones and seven on seven. The coaches were pushing the guys and it was a great practice.”

Colzie said he watched receivers coach DelVaugn Alexander in action the whole practice and was a big fan of how the Irish staffer approached his job.

“He kind of reminds me of my head coach,” Colzie said. “He’s got the things you want in a coach that will help you, and he’s also laid back and chill. He’s going to teach you the right stuff.”

Alexander and Colzie got to talk a little bit following the practice and the Georgia receiver said it was a great conversation.

“We just talked about how everything went at practice,” Colzie said. “We talked about the receivers worked, we talked about recruiting and he said he’s going to stay in touch.”

Going forward, Colzie will keep up the communication with Notre Dame, and the Irish will do the same.

"Coach Alexander is going to come see me in the spring,” Colzie explained. “I’ll come back in the summer for a camp and we’ll just go from there.”

So far, Colzie’s only offer is from Tennessee, but he’s hopeful Notre Dame will eventually enter the mix.

“It would definitely mean a lot,” Colzie said. “Notre Dame is a dream school of mine. I’ve loved Notre Dame for a while now.
