Wylie (Texas) High 2019 wide receiver Donovan Ollie visited Notre Dame for the NC State game, and the Irish left a huge impression on the Texas talent.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Ollie said the visit to South Bend was different than any other trip he’s taken so far.

I really enjoyed the game and the campus in South Bend,” Ollie said. The game intensity was like no other place I’ve ever seen and the campus was unbelievable along with that huge stadium. I couldn’t stop imagining myself making plays there.

Ollie said the thing that caught his eye the most about the visit was the history of the school and the football program.

“They tradition of the school and team sticks out the most,” Ollie said. “Notre Dame produces great players and I come from a religious family so that will be a good fit for me to attend a religious school.”

Of course, getting to attend the game against NC State was the highlight of the trip for Ollie.

Ollie was completely blown away by the atmosphere in Notre Dame Stadium.

That was the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen,” Ollie said. “I just felt like I was in another world while i was on the sideline during pregame. It gave me goosebumps to hear all the fans and see all the players hyped up.”

For now, Ollie’s recruitment is in the early stages.

The Texas talent does not yet hold any offers, but has a few things in mind he’ll be looking for when offers start to come in.

“Mainly a place that feels like home and will give me the best education and put me in the best position to take my career to the next level,” Ollie said. “Also a place where my family feels more than welcome.”

If one of those offers comes from Notre Dame, Ollie said South Bend might just be the right place for him.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Notre Dame ever since I was a small kid,” Ollie said. “I would definitely be more than happy to come play in South Bend.”
