With the early signing period coming to an end and the class of 2018 being close to wrapped up, Notre Dame will bring to turn its focus to the class of 2019.

The Irish targeted and signed one of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2018 in Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland four-star Phil Jurkovec. Rival rates Jurkovec as the No. 55 player in the country and BGI football analyst Bryan Driskell has him as the No. 1 player in the class.

With Jurkovec solidly in the fold, Notre Dame started its search for a 2019 quarterback , and grabbed an early commitment from one of the top pro-style signal callers in the class in Reno (Nev.) Damonte Ranch four-star Cade Mcnamara, who Rivals rates as the No. 8 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019 and the No. 230 overall player in the nation.

However, even with McNamara in the fold, Notre Dame may be looking at a projected take of 1-2 quarterbacks in the 2019 class.

COMMITTED

In late June, Notre Dame hosted two four-star quarterbacks in the class of 2019 for evaluation camps.

Both Graham (Wash.) Graham Kapowsin four-star Dylan Morris and McNamara made the trip, and landed offers from Notre Dame shortly after.

However, the Irish made a push for McNamara, and landed his commitment on July 17, the first player in the class of 2019 to commit to Notre Dame.

As a junior, McNamara completed 225 of his 384 pass attempts for 3,470 yards and 44 touchdowns with 8 interceptions and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Nevada.

EARLY BOARD

There's only one other name to know at quarterback in 2019 for Notre Dame right now.

Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville three-star product Paul Tyson reported an offer from Notre Dame on Sept. 17, and has already visited Notre Dame twice, for Sophomore Day on April 2 and the Irish Invasion on June 10.

Tyson has expressed interest in the Irish, and as of now, he's the only un-committed quarterback the Irish have extended an offer to.

The grandson of legendary Alabama head coach Bear Bryant, Tyson recently picked up an offer from the Tide and they could be hard to beat, but it appears for now that if Notre Dame wants a second quarterback in 2019, Tyson is the guy they're targeting.
