Notre Dame’s 17th commitment of the 2022 class is in, with Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic class of 2022 defensive back Jayden Bellamy pledging to the Fighting Irish.
Here is a breakdown of what the new addition means for the Irish.
1. There are three words to describe Bellamy as a football player — speedy, athletic and versatile. Bellamy played sparingly on offense last season, but averaged 24.3 yards per catch and took three of his eight receptions to the end zone. He took a screen pass 84 yards to the house, running by a handful of defenders. Defensively, Bellamy can do it all. His one knock is his size; if he were 6-1, I think he’d be a five-star player. He’s 5-11 and has a slender build, but his instincts and cover ability are outstanding.
