Decision time is nearing for four-star Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High cornerback Thomas Graham, and Notre Dame remains right in the thick of things to land the talented defensive back.

Graham, the No. 7 cornerback in the class of 2017 and the No. 68 overall player in the nation, plans to announce his commitment in December. He said the Irish remain high on his list, like they have been for some time.

“They’re pretty high on the board,” Graham said. “They stand pretty good with me, because they have something different to offer than other people, with academics and the tradition that they have to offer.”

It’s those unique opportunities in the classroom that have Notre Dame high on not only Graham’s list, but his parents as well.

“They love it,” Graham said of his parents’ thoughts on Notre Dame. “Especially what it has to do for me academically.”

On the field, Notre Dame obviously hasn’t put out the product it was hoping to this season, but Graham said that hasn’t had much of an impact on him.

“Not really,” Graham said. “Everybody has a rebuilding year.”

Graham officially visited Notre Dame Sept. 17 for the Michigan State game.

Since then, the four-star has officially visited Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon, all of which went well according to Graham. The four-star has also officially visited Nebraska.

With a decision on the way, Graham said he’s talking to the Notre Dame coaching staff, which he has become quite close with, once a week.

“Their pitch has basically just been, ‘You’re young and we need you,’” Graham said.

But, really, Graham said, there isn’t much of a pitch required.

“It’s Notre Dame,” Graham said. “The name speaks for itself.”

Come December, Graham said if he were to pick Notre Dame, it would be for a few different reasons.

“Just being comfortable there,” Graham said. “And going farther away from home, and me knowing academically, I’ll be secure.”
