Notre Dame extended its third offer of the day Wednesday afternoon, with this one going to three-star Hillsborough (N.C.) Orange County linebacker Payton Wilson.
Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 220 pound outside linebacker, told BGI that he has had communication with defensive coordinator Mike Elko and linebackers coach Clark Lea in past few weeks.
Wilson is the third North Carolina linebacker to receive an offer from Notre Dame today.
Wilson is ranked by Rivals as the No. 21 linebacker in the class of 2018, and No. 16 player in the state of North Carolina.
According to MaxPreps, Wilson recorded 127 tackles as a junior, 39 of them for a loss, in 13 games. Orange County went 12-1 overall in 2016.
Wilson also currently holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and several others.
