Standout 2022 TE Donovan Green Dishes On Notre Dame Offer

Dickinson (Texas) High tight end Donovan Green burst onto the scene as a sophomore, catching 34 passes for 615 yards and five touchdowns, helping lead his team to a 10-2 record.

The class of 2022 prospect has picked up 20 scholarship offers as well, and the recruiting process has surprised Green a bit.

"A whole bunch of schools want me to choose them and are really interested in me. I didn't expect all of this," Green said.

The 6-3, 215-pounder added Notre Dame to his offer sheet Feb. 19, which was a big moment for Green.

"I was walking to class and my coach texted me saying that I had an offer from Notre Dame," recalled Green. "Three weeks prior, they came to my school. They said that they like my film. The offer happened kind of randomly.

"I was just excited. When they were talking to me about the school, it was all really good things."

Green visited Houston a few weeks ago, but for the most part, Green is focused on his sophomore basketball season and not so much on the recruiting process.

He's a hybrid tight end/wide receiver prospect who will only continue to add to his offer sheet in the coming months. The likes of Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington have already thrown their hats into the ring for Green.

"I want to know how I'll be used in their offense and how much of a home feel the school is," Green said about what he's looking for in a school.

Green reports a 3.86 grade point average.

"It's very important," he said of academics. "That's probably the first thing that every coach asks about when they're looking at a player. For me, academics is really second nature."

Green hopes to visit LSU March 14 and wants to visit Texas A&M in the near future as well.
