Lenzy originally committed to Notre Dame in February following an unofficial visit for Junior Day, but flipped to in-state Oregon on June 14 among concerns that his track career would falter in South Bend.

The Oregon product takes track seriously, and fully plans on giving it equal time in college along with football.

Following Lenzy’ flip, Notre Dame went out and offered California speedster Geordon Porter and secured his commitment on Nov.1.

When Willie Taggart bolted for Florida State, Lenzy backed off his pledge to the Ducks.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long went in-home with Lenzy that same week and convinced him to take an official visit to Notre Dame for the Echoes banquet on Dec. 8.

Meanwhile, Porter backed off his commitment to Notre Dame on Dec. 9.

After the visit, it was almost a done deal. Lenzy is back where he originally wanted to be, and Notre Dame has the speed receiver they wanted in the class all along.

BGI ANALYSIS

"Lenzy is an elite athlete that has legitimate game-breaking speed. An Oregon state track champion as a junior, Lenzy carries over his track speed onto the football field. He always had tremendous acceleration and the ability to gain separation with his speed, but as a senior Lenzy improved his burst off the line, which allowed him to play even faster.

Speed is the name of his game, but he's not just a sprinter. Lenzy is a strong all-around athlete that shows impressive footwork, outstanding balance and he's a sudden athlete, a trait that helps make him a very good cornerback prospect as well. These traits allow him to make quick moves on the field, but also allow him to quickly accelerate once he makes those moves.

Lenzy improved his technique as a senior, which was a welcome sight. He was better getting off the line, he was better limiting his steps to get into and out of routes, and his technique at the top end of his routes improved. He still needs work, but it was obvious he put a lot a of work in to that part of his game during the summer. Lenzy also improved his ball skills as a senior. He always tracked the deep ball well, but he was more aggressive going to the ball and showed more focus as a pass catcher during his senior season." - BGI Football Analyst Bryan Driskell
