Roswell (Ga.) Rivals250 tight end Tyneil Hopper was not able to do everything he wanted while he was in South Bend this past weekend, but the 6-foot-2, 200-pound four-star still had a great visit.

“I had a lot of fun,” Hopper said. “I enjoyed everything there. I enjoyed the game….I like how they fought to come back. Overall, it was a great visit for me.

“I believe Notre Dame is a great school. One of the top schools in the country. I believe that they will be successful. It was a great experience for me.”

Hopper wasn’t able to see as much of the campus and facilities as he would have liked, but said he would like to return to Notre Dame to do so.

“During the game when Notre Dame score the student section did the pushups,” Hopper said of his favorite part of what he did see. “It was really cool. I’ve never seen that before. I enjoyed it.”

“I really liked how they used the tight ends. They split them out wide, they had a few catches and a touchdown number 80 [Durham Smythe]. It was a pretty good game.”

Hopper did get a chance to speak with tight ends coach Scott Booker a bit during the visit.

“He asked to talk to me before the game that’s when we talked them most,” Hopper said. “He was just saying ‘it wasn’t the outcome they wanted, but glad you’re here, really liked your film. We’ll keep in contact with you to make sure Notre Dame is a fit.’”

Though the Irish didn’t offer on the trip, Hopper said he was told he high on the list of players under consideration.

“[Coach Booker] did say that they were very selective with their offers and I’m on this list and we’ll see where things go,” Hopper said.

North Carolina, Louisville, Kentucky and Wake Forest have extended early offers to Hopper.
