Notre Dame's coaching staff continues to take shape.

According to Sports Illustrated, Notre Dame is expected to hire Wake Forest assistant Clark Lea as its new linebackers coach.

Lea, 35, follows new Irish defensive coordinator Mike Elko from Wake Forest. Elko was officially hired last month.

Prior to coaching the linebackers at Wake Forest in 2016, Lea held the same position at Syracuse from 2013-15.

Lea is a 2004 Vanderbilt grad who has previously coached as an assistant at UCLA, Bowling Green and South Dakota State.

While with Elko at Bowling Green in 2012, Lea was a finalist for Linebackers Coach of the Year by FootballScoop.com.
