It feels more like summer than spring in South Bend this week, and the Irish are one week away from the end of spring football with the Blue-Gold Game. Notre Dame will have a pretty active closed scrimmage Saturday before head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Gerad Parker and defensive coordinator Al Golden speak to reporters.

But before diving into that coverage, Tyler James and Eric Hansen wanted to catch up with one of the behind-the-scenes stars of the show next week: Notre Dame assistant athletic director of alumni engagement Hunter Bivin.

Bivin, a former Irish offensive lineman (2013-17), joined the Inside ND Sports podcast to discuss the creation of Notre Dame football's Legacy Network, Freeman's push to make Legacy Weekend a part of Blue-Gold Game week, what ND's current and former players get from the experience, who's expected to be in town this year, why Bivin returned to ND after graduation, the impact the director of football player development can have, the adversity he faced during his ND career and more.

Then James and Hansen answered questions from Twitter and The Insider Lounge (17:54).
