Even though decisions are likely years away, several 2019 prospects made their way to South Bend Saturday to watch Notre Dame squeak out a 30-27 victory over the Miami Hurricanes.

Pittsburgh Plum wide receiver Rahmon Hart Jr. was one of said 2019 prospects. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Hart said his time in South Bend exceeded his expectations heading into the visit.

“The game day atmosphere was crazy and I've never been to a football game where fans had that much energy throughout the entire game,” Hart said. “My tour guide took me throughout the Gug, showed me the entire campus and all the facilities. What stood out most were ‘Touchdown Jesus’ and all the gold items the locker room.

“I've always heard of the Notre Dame's campus being nice but it exceeded my expectations.”

Hart enjoyed seeing the Irish pull out the victory and watching a couple of the team's wide receivers.

“My favorite part was watching Notre Dame beat Miami…because the football game was really exciting and entertaining to watch,” Hart said. “Notre Dame finished out strong and the atmosphere was impressive.

"The players that stood out for me were Equanimeous St. Brown and Torii Hunter. I think they are really good route runners and they catch the ball well."

The sophomore liked the entire package Notre Dame offers its student-athletes.

“I was impressed by the campus, the facilities, the fans, and the many things they have in place to make sure that football players do well on the field and inside the classroom,” Hart said. “I would rate the visit a nine because I really liked the campus and enjoyed my time there.”

Hart wasn’t able to spend much time with the coaching staff given it was a game day, but did speak with recruiting coordinator Aaryn Kearney.

“He talked about what it is like to be a football player at Notre Dame and shared some of their game day rituals,” Hart said.

The visit was Hart’s second of the fall with the first going to Pittsburgh. He is planning to visit Temple in the future as well.

Hart has received an early offer from Temple and is getting interest from Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Penn State and Kentucky. During his sophomore campaign, Hart caught 25 passes for 545 yards and six touchdowns.
